We are a very patriotic family and love a good 4th of July party. My husband served in the Navy for 20 years and that alone will give any family great pride for our country. But both of our families are extremely patriotic as well and we were both influenced by that growing up.
We also try very hard to instill that in our son. He learned to salute the flag at a very early age and his favorite part of school is saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
We are having a few neighbors over for a 4th of July swim party on Saturday. I was scouring Pinterest for fun (and classy) ways to add some patriotic flair with food and decor. Here are my favorites!
4th Of July Patriotic Pom Pom Garland
A simple pom pom garland adds a touch of red, white and blue to your decor. These can be hung on the wall or even on a table as part of the centerpiece. I found this cute one on Etsy and another one on Amazon. But I’m not sure either would arrive by this weekend.
But you are in luck! Joyful Derivatives has a great tutorial on how you can easily create one of your own in 10 minutes. Check out her DIY Pom Pom Garland.
American Flag Fruit Tray
This is one of my favorites. Most everyone has seen this somewhere before but usually only with strawberries. I love that this version from Country Living uses cherries and raspberries too!
Patriotic Charcuterie Board
This simple patriotic charcuterie board is perfect for the 4th of July. Love the cheese stars!!
DENIM and RED BANDANA GARLAND
I found this denim and red bandana garland on Etsy but you could easily make this as well. If you don’t have the extra denim (from old jeans etc) you could grab some inexpensive blue fabric to use in place of the denim strips.
DIY DENIM and RIBBON AMERICAN FLAG
Another Pinterest favorite is this DIY jean and ribbon American Flag. Weheartthis gives you a step-by-step DIY tutorial here.
I’m starting to see a cowboy theme with my selections – TN may be rubbing off on me a bit!
THE ULTIMATE PATRIOTIC CHARCUTERIE BOARD
This is the ultimate patriotic charcuterie board! I’m hoping to recreate one of these boards on Saturday.
I do not know who to credit for this picture so if anyone knows who owns this picture please let me know.
4th of JULY BROWNIE BITES
RealFoodByDad posted about these 4th of July brownie bites with a recipe on making your own whipped cream. SO GOOD.
I will be making these with gluten free brownie mix because our neighbor has a son with a gluten allergy. Any brownie recipe, brownie mix or store bought brownies will work for this dessert.
STAR SPANGLED INFUSED WATER
I found this gorgeous patriotic infused water on TheViewFromGreatIsland. Just beautiful.
SIMPLE 4th of JULY CENTERPIECE
One of my favorite bloggers is Liz Marie. She has a whole post on 4th of July living room decor. But you can take her simple arrangements outside as well if you are having an outdoor cookout.
Need SOME appetizers that are good for any party?
- Hawaiian Ham and Swiss Sliders
- Stuffed Jalapeno Nachos
- Slow Cooker Cocktail Meatballs
- Easy Homemade Salsa
Hope these help with planning your 4th of July party! Have a safe and happy holiday weekend.
God Bless America.
Wonderful July 4th ideas. So good to see patriotic things. Hopeful
