In 1994 I started my first year at Texas A&M University. My roommate and I had a friend that lived a few blocks from a College Station Texaco close to campus and we stopped there one day for gas. We walked inside and smelled the most amazing burgers being cooked from the back of the store. We couldn’t resist and got 2 to go. These burgers were SO delicious I drove right back to ask how they made them. This amazing and simple hamburger will make you smile. 2 ingredients! Doesn’t get much easier than that.
The 2 ingredients these wonderful men used were……….. (drum roll)…….. Worcestershire and Lawry’s Seasoned Salt! That’s it. Nothing else.
THE EASY AND SIMPLE HAMBURGER
SERVING TIP: We topped the hamburger patty with cheddar cheese. My father in law also sautéed a white onion in butter and olive oil (until almost crispy!). This simple hamburger was perfect with the cheddar, onions, pickles and a little mayo and yellow mustard. Dijon would be awesome too! I decided to go with onion buns this time and they couldn’t have tasted better however any bun or roll will do.
You my need to play with the amounts of Lawry’s and Worcechestire. I go pretty aggressive with it but you may like a little less. Don’t skimp on the Worcestershire. Keep adding until you are a little uncomfortable and that’s the perfect amount. 🙂
If you are reading this because you like beef….. try these crockpot meatballs. YUM.
